Eligibility: Before you begin our application, please make sure that you meet the following eligibility requirements:

​

• You are Jewish. 

• You reside in British Columbia (exceptions made for students raised in B.C. that are temporarily studying out-of-province).

• You are a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee.

• You are 19 years of age or older​.

Please note that HFLA loans are designed to support individuals and families experiencing financial need. To determine eligibility, HFLA follows BC Housing's income guidelines which means that you are welcome to apply if your gross household income falls within the following ranges:

​

• Up to $84,780 for one or two-person households 

• Up to $134,140 for households of three or more people

• Over $134,140 if you have dependent children ​​with high Jewish education/experience costs

 

Guarantor Requirements:

• Please provide one Jewish guarantor who lives in British Columbia if possible.

Repayment Terms: At the time of application, you will be asked to select your preferred repayment term (20, 24, 30, or 40 months). Our goal is to find a monthly repayment amount that fits your financial needs while remaining sustainable for our organization. We approach this as a collaborative process and will work with you to confirm a repayment plan that feels manageable, realistic, and respectful of your individual circumstances.
