Rebecca
Coen
Principal, Richmond Jewish Day School
www.rjds.ca
In 2008 Rebecca
Coen was appointed the new Principal at the Richmond Jewish Day
School. Rebecca, who has amazing credentials, is very special
to us at HFLA and has allowed us to tell her story.
In 1990 Rebecca
Ironi moved from Toronto to Vancouver to attend UBC. From a modest
background in Toronto, Rebecca arrived and found herself in an
impossible housing market with tuition to pay and a need for more
textbooks than she could afford to buy. Through some introductions,
Rebecca requested a loan from HFLA (which she repaid in full within
a year!). Now, 18 years later, our community is benefiting from
the education that HFLA helped Rebecca attain.
After graduating
from UBC, Rebecca went on to attain a Masters Degree Educational
Leadership & Policy Studies from California State University and
worked as a Jewish Day School teacher in Los Angeles for 13 years.
Now married to Jeff Coen, they have returned to Vancouver with
their 3 children and we are fortunate to have them both back in
our city.
Congratulations
Rebecca and welcome back!
